Emergency services rescue woman 'trapped' inside vehicle following West End collision
Emergency services rushed to rescue a woman "trapped" inside their vehicle - following a serious two-vehicle collision in the West End of Crewe.
The incident on West Street, near to the junction with Bright Street, happened at 4:40pm on Tuesday 27 June.
Emergency services quickly arrived at the scene - discovering a black Volkswagen had collided with a grey Vauxhall Astra.
Firefighters rescued the driver of the Volkswagen, a woman, who was "trapped' inside their vehicle.
The woman was taken to Leighton Hospital by North West Ambulance Service paramedics as a precaution.
Cheshire Police road closures were in place for over two hours until the incident was dealt with, lifted around 6:50pm.
On Wednesday 28 June, Cheshire Police confirmed the incident to Nub News.
"At 4.40pm on Tuesday 27 June, police were called to a collision involving two vehicles on West Street, Crewe, near to the junction with Bright Street.
"The incident involved a black Volkswagen and a grey Vauxhall Astra.
"The driver of the Volkswagen, a woman, was reported to be trapped in the vehicle.
"Firefighters and paramedics attended the scene, and the woman was taken to hospital as a precaution.
"Road closures were put in place while the incident was dealt with and were lifted at around 6.50pm."
