Emergency services rush to petrol scooter 'deliberately' set on fire in Crewe

Emergency services rushed to a petrol scooter 'well alight' in Crewe - believed to have been started 'deliberately.'

The incident on Ludlow Avenue, close to Macon Meadows, happened at 12:30am on Thursday 23 February.

One fire engine attended from Crewe quickly arrived at the scene - assessing the situation.

The Crewe firefighters used a water back pack to put out the scooter blaze.

Cheshire Police were called due to the nature of the incident - believed to be an act of arson.

A Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "A petrol scooter was well alight in Crewe.

"A water back pack was used to extinguish the fire.

"Police were also in attendance as the fire is believed to have been started deliberately."

On Friday (February 24), Cheshire Police confirmed the incident to Nub News.

Crewe firefighters used a water back pack to put out the scooter blaze on Ludlow Avenue (Google).

A spokesperson said: "At around 12.45am on Thursday 23 February, police were called to reports that a scooter was on fire on Ludlow Avenue.

"Officers attended along with Cheshire Fire and Rescue to extinguish the fire. 

"Enquiries in relation to this incident are underway."
