Emergency services rushed to a car fire on a busy dual carriageway in Crewe - taking place during rush hour traffic.

The incident on the A500 Shavington Bypass, Weston, happened at 5:23pm on Tuesday (November 22).

Emergency services quickly arrived at the scene - with one fire engine from Crewe and Cheshire Police officers.

The car fire started from the engine compartment of a vehicle.

No injuries were sustained during the incident.

A Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "Firefighters put out a fire in the engine compartment of a vehicle on Shavington Bypass.

"There were no casualties reported."
