'Injuries not life threatening' as drivers receive treatment after West Street crash

POLICE say two motorists were treated for injuries after a two-car collision in Crewe this morning (Friday).

West Street was closed near to its junction with Minshull New Road for around three hours.

The crash happened around 9am and two fire crews attended. It involved a collision between a black Nissan Qashqai and a red Peugeot 207.

A Cheshire Police spokesperson said: "The drivers of the vehicles were treated at the scene by paramedics and their injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

"West Street was closed while officers dealt with the incident and reopened at approximately 11.50am."

A Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: "The drivers of the vehicles were given first aid by firefighters. They then assisted paramedics with the casualties and made the vehicles safe."
