Driver attends hospital after two-vehicle collision in West End accident hotspot

A driver took themselves to hospital following a two-vehicle collision in Crewe - taking place at an accident hotspot within the West End of town.

The incident happened at 5pm, Saturday (September 17) on Frank Webb Avenue - close to the junction with Badger Avenue.

Cheshire Constabulary quickly arrived at the scene - closing off a section of Frank Webb Avenue until the road was cleared at 6:15pm.

The driver of one of the Peugoets took themselves to hospital as a precaution (Lisa Capper).

The collision involved a grey Peugeot 308 and a Blue Peugeot 207 - with the later taken away by an accident recovery vehicle.

People involved in the accident sustained no major injuries.

A female driver of one of the vehicles took themselves to Leighton Hospital as a 'precaution' from the accident.

Today (September 20), Cheshire Constabulary confirmed the incident to Nub News.

The collision involved a grey Peugeot 308 and a Blue Peugeot 207 - with the later taken away by an accident recovery vehicle (Ryan Parker).

A spokesperson said: "At 5pm on Saturday (September 17), police were called to reports of a collision on Frank Webb Avenue, Crewe, near to the junction of Badger Avenue.

"Officers attended the scene and found the collision involved two cars, a grey Peugeot 308 and a Blue Peugeot 207.

"Nobody was trapped as a result of the collision, and there were no reports of any serious injuries.

"The driver of one of the cars took themselves to hospital as a precaution.

Cheshire Constabulary quickly arrived at the scene - closing off a section of Frank Webb Avenue until the road was cleared at 6:15pm (Lisa Capper).

"The road was cleared by 6.15pm."

This was the sixth collision at the same Crewe junction in 2022.
