Driver escapes arrest after crashing into two parked cars in Crewe

A male driver escaped being arrested, despite crashing into two parked cars in Crewe and driving away from the scene.

On Sunday 19 January, Cheshire Police received reports of a blue SEAT Leon hitting two parked cars on Davenport Avenue.

The driver then fled the scene in the direction of Shavington, despite losing a tyre.

Cheshire Police located the SEAT Leon on Jack Mills Way, detaining the male driver to carry out drink drive and drug drive tests, which he passed (Nub News).

After passing both tests the man was released. He was then taken to hospital as a precautionary measure.

A Cheshire Police spokesperson told Nub News: "At 5.37pm on Sunday 19 January, police were called to reports that the driver of a blue Seat Leon had collided with two parked cars on Davenport Avenue.

"The driver was located on Jack Mills Way and spoken to by officers. 

The SEAT Leon driver was taken to hospital as a precautionary measure (Cheshire Police).

"The man passed a drink drive and drug drive tests and no arrests were made.

"He was also taken to hospital as a precautionary measure."

Nub News has asked Cheshire Police for an update on the damaged parked cars.
