A POPULAR Weston hospitality venue is hosting an Oktoberfest.

Connoisseurs will be able to sample of range of beers and lagers during the event which is being held over Friday, October 8 and Saturday, October 9 at the White Lion Weston.

The event is being hosted in a marquee at the back of the hotel and table bookings are being taken.

The White Lion has 10 tables of 6 for bookings on both evenings, and although Saturday is already booked, the Friday seatings still have limited availability.

On tap will be Pils, Hell, Weizen and Dark supplied by Krobacher.

White Lion manager Chris Johnson said: "We will also be allowing people to turn up and try the beers even if they don't have a table booked, although there will be a limited capacity of 90 in the tent.

"Friday we will be starting at 5pm and going through to 11pm, while Saturday will be an all day event from 12 midday through to 11pm, but with benches being booked out from 5pm onwards."

Live music is being laid on, starting at 5pm on both days.The Audley Brass Band will be making an appearance on both evenings from 8 to 10pm.

The White Lion says that fancy dress is "very much encouraged!".
