Seddon Homes has submitted a full planning application for 92 dwellings on land east of Sydney Road in Crewe.

This latest application comes months after the developer submitted an outline application for up to 320 homes on a site adjacent to this land.

That larger application has not yet been considered by Cheshire East's strategic planning board.

A planning statement submitted by WSP in relation to this latest scheme says: "The full application site extends to circa 4.08ha, and it is anticipated that the site can accommodate 92 dwellings, including policy compliant provision of 30 per cent affordable housing.

"Significant areas of new public open space are proposed including children's play space and amenity space connected by a network of green corridors and footpaths around the site.

"Sustainable drainage systems and a pond are also proposed alongside new tree and hedge planting, to provide an attractive landscape for future residents and to increase biodiversity opportunities."

The site is located outside the settlement boundary of Crewe, within the strategic green gap and open countryside between Crewe and Haslington.

Access is proposed from Sydney Road via Seddon Homes' The Pavilions development.

That scheme is currently under construction.

The planning documents says: "The existing spine road serving The Pavilions development will be extended to provide access to the proposed development, supported by a series of secondary and tertiary streets."

The proposal for this latest 92-home development is a mix of one to four-bed homes in a range of semi-detached, detached, terrace and apartments not exceeding two storeys in height.

All homes will be provided with EV charging provision.

The last date for submitting comments is Wednesday 27 May, with a target decision date of Tuesday 7 July.
