Taylor Wimpey will be building 305 new homes in Crewe, after completing the purchase of the residential phase of the Basford East site from Homes England.
Known as Millbrook Place, off David Whitby Way, the site will be constructed using timber frame methods and will be the first to be sourced directly from Taylor Wimpey's new factory in Peterborough.
Sustainability has been a key focus of the site's design, which features energy efficient new homes with electric charging points provided to all properties.
Homes England delivered the primary infrastructure works to serve the residential, employment and local centre development,
It provided £4.2 million in Section 106 Contributions towards education, bus services and sustainable transport in the local area, as well as improvements to Weston Cemetery.
Millbrook Place will deliver a mix of two, three and four-bedroom properties, including 'affordable homes.'
The site also benefits from large areas of public open space including a play area, art trail and trim trail, and connectivity to nearby walking and cycling routes.
Land and Planning Director for Taylor Wimpey North West, Ian Harrison, told Nub News: "We are very pleased to have completed the purchase of this site working in collaboration with Homes England.
"We look forward to continuing developing Taylor Wimpey homes in Crewe and believe Millbrook Place focuses on high quality design and sustainability will mean that it is a great success, creating a positive legacy for the local area."
The first homes for Millbrook Place go on sale from 11am on Friday 17 May, with buyers now able to register their interest.
Simon Herring, Northern Development Director at Homes England, said: "This is an important milestone in the development of Millbrook Place, where Taylor Wimpey is building high-quality energy efficient homes, supported by improved infrastructure and local services.
"The deal is a signal of Homes England's continuous support to ambitious partners that share our mission of delivering much-needed new homes in the areas that need them most."
