Excitement is building as preparations get underway for the 33rd annual Haslington Cricket Club Fireworks & Bonfire Night on Saturday 7 November.

The hard work has already begun, with chief bonfire builders, Tris and Steve, busy building it ahead of what promises to be another fantastic community event.

Gates open at 5.30pm, with the bonfire lit at 7pm. The fireworks display will commence at 8pm.

There will be a food court, licenced bar and fairground, as well as entertainment from AO Events.

Haslington Cricket Club told Nub News: "Last year was our most successful event yet, and we're looking forward to welcoming the local community back for another memorable evening of family fun, fireworks and festive atmosphere.

"We're also delighted local primary schools and nurseries are getting involved by creating their own guys to be part of the bonfire tradition.

"A huge thank you to all the children, staff and families taking part.
