Crewe Town Post Office expected to re-open in new unit 'early next year'
Crewe Town's Post Office is expected to re-open inside a new unit "early next year," with strong rumours indicating its location will be inside a former sports store.
The central area of Crewe has been without a Post Office since its facility closed down inside WHSmith, Victoria Shopping Centre, on Thursday 30 March.
This closure was always meant to be temporary, with Post Office looking at securing a new operator in the town centre since.
A deal was finally agreed for a new Crewe Town postmaster this September.
This November, Nub News was told by a number of sources its new location will be inside the former Liberty Sports & Leisure shop, 3 Victoria Centre.
A Post Office spokesperson told Nub News: "We are currently finalising plans to open a Post Office in Crewe Town and hope to make an announcement in the near future.
"We are looking to re-open a Post Office early next year."
Post Office has already confirmed Crewe Town Post Office will not be located inside the former WHSmith unit.
The former Liberty Sports & Leisure unit has been vacant for well over a decade.
