Crewe Town Council Covid-19 fund opens to help out hard-hit third sector

By Gwyn Griffiths 27th Aug 2021

A COVID-19 fund set up to help out hard-hit organisations in Crewe is now open for applications.

Voluntary groups and third sector bodies will be able to apply for grants of up to £1,000 as part of a six-month scheme run by Crewe Town Council.

The council has allocated funds of £20,000 to support voluntary, community and faith sector organisations who are providing a response during the pandemic and are beginning to reopen services as restrictions ease.

The COVID-19 Response Fund will be open until February 14 next year with cash offered on a first come, first served basis.

Organisations must be already established and/or operating within the town boundary, the council says, and only one application per organisation is permitted.

Many groups need to undertake safety measures to carry on with their work and reopen offices. Successful bids could be used to buy PPE.

All the applications will be assessed by the council's Grants Working Group.

You can find out if your organisation is eligible and further information about the fund here.

A copy of the Application Form can be found here.

Questions about the fund should be emailed to [email protected] or ring the Community Engagement Officer Hannah Marr on 01270 756975
