Crewe town centre road to remain closed until Saturday

A Crewe town centre road is set to remain closed until Saturday, allowing United Utilities Water works to take place.

High Street, from its junction with Cross Street to its junction with Oak Street Roundabout closed on Tuesday 23 April.

The road can be accessed from Edleston Road but there is no straight through route.

Vehicular access is being maintained for emergency services and residents where possible (Ryan Parker).

Motorists are being diverted via: Edleston Road, Oak Street and Vernon Way.

Pedestrian/cyclist access to any High Street premises is being maintained at all times.

The closure is necessary for works to be carried out by United Utilities.

These water works are taking place close to High Street's junction with Oak Street Roundabout.

Several workers have been seen on-site carrying out the essential maintenance.
