Crewe town centre has been dealt another blow, after an established North West based greeting card shop chain "ceased trading" in all locations.
Card Express, on the corner of Victoria Street and Queensway, suddenly closed on the afternoon of Sunday 17 September.
The budget card shop, which also sold balloons and seasonal gifts, had been based in Crewe town centre for over two decades.
On Sunday, all Card Express staff were told the company would no longer be trading from Crewe, or any of its other five locations.
It has now closed in Stockport, Warrington, Wrexham, Wythenshawe and Thornton-Cleveleys.
A Card Express statement read: "It is with a sad and heavy heart to announce we ceased trading with immediate effect on Sunday 17 September.
"We would like to thank all our loyal customers for their support throughout our years of trading.
"For any customers with balloon orders, we will be contacting you to discuss the options.
"Any customers who were told to bring balloons back to be blown up, please email: [email protected] and someone will be in touch.
"Sorry for any inconvenience this causes. Thank you again and we hope to see you again."
Crewe Nub News has contacted Card Express for comment on all its store closures.
