A new takeaway in Crewe is in the process of the being developed - despite objections from the next door property owner to the development.
Moorlands Fast Food & Grill Kebab was given the green light for the change of use from a hairdressers to a hot food new takeaway, Edleston Road, on March 17.
The takeaway already has a unit on Hightown and is in the process of expanding to the new unit within the coming months.
This development has come with a number of objections from members of the public.
Members of the public were able to submit comments on the application until May 3.
In April, the property owner of next door to the proposed Moorlands takeaway said he was unhappy with the plans.
The Crewe resident said: "As I own the property next door to this application, which is rented out to two tenants as flats, they are both thinking of leaving if this application goes ahead.
"This is due to the smell and late night noise. I could have a property no one wants to rent.
"Also, there doesn't warrant another takeaway needed in this area."
This comment was made after approval for the change of use to the takeaway was given.
Another objection was made to the development, from a member of the public who lives on Edleston Road.
He commented on the application, saying: "I wish to object to this application because there is a takeaway next door but one to me and there is a takeaway across the road from these premises.
"The entrance to my flat is at the rear and I can smell the cooking of food from these other premises.
"I have seen rats at the rear of the alleyway."
Moorlands plans to open inside former Crewe hairdressers, New Image, which relocated to Room Four, Regent's Park, Nantwich - earlier this year.
The local Crewe resident added: "'We have several other takeaways on this road and I just think another is too much."
Over the past three months, work has started on the new Moorlands takeaway.
A design and access statement from the client of the development, Mr Khan, of Stoke-on-Trent, said: "The proposed application will make good use of an existing business premise in a sustainable location.
"The proposed development has been carefully considered to present a long-term and sustainable opportunity for the application site and its setting."
The planning case officer to the site concluded that the plans for a new takeaway were acceptable.
He said: "The proposed development would be of an acceptable design that would not have a detrimental impact upon neighbouring amenity or highway safety."
So far, new shutters have been constructed to the exterior of the new Moorlands takeaway with crates and bottles of soft drinks also spotted inside.
