Crewe supported living service rated 'Outstanding' for Caring from CQC

ECHO Supported Living Services, operating in Crewe East, is celebrating after being rated 'Good' overall and 'Outstanding' for Caring by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

Archer Drive, off Sydney Road, provides 10 apartments, over three blocks, for people with learning disabilities and other complex needs, including autism and physical disabilities, enabling them to enhance their independent living skills in a community setting.

The achievement places the service among a small number of providers nationally to secure an 'Outstanding' rating in any domain, recognising the exceptional quality of care and support delivered to people across its supported living services.

ECHO Supported Living Services provides personalised care and support promoting each individual's quality of life ensuring they are an active part of their local community.

ECHO Supported Living Services is designed to promote independence, while ensuring individuals receive the tailored support they need to live fulfilling lives in their own homes.

Inspectors praised the service for the kindness, compassion and dignity shown by staff, stating that the provider was "exceptional at treating people with kindness, empathy and compassion and in how they respected people's privacy and dignity".

The report said relatives were "without exception" positive about the support provided.

Inspectors also highlighted the service's highly personalised approach, saying people were treated as individuals and supported to make choices, maintain routines, develop independence and take part in activities in their homes and communities.

The report said the service was "exceptional" in making sure people's care, support and treatment met their needs and preferences.

Registered Manager for ECHO Supported Living Services, Sharena Record, told Nub News: said: "We are incredibly proud to have been recognised as 'Outstanding' for Caring by the CQC.

"This is one of the most difficult ratings to achieve and is a true reflection of the compassion, dedication and professionalism shown by our teams every single day.

"At ECHO Supported Living Services, we are committed to delivering person-centred support that empowers people to live independently while feeling safe, respected and valued.

"This report recognises the meaningful relationships our teams build with the people we support and their families, and the positive difference this makes to their lives.

"I would like to thank our colleagues for their continued commitment, as well as the people we support and their families for their trust and feedback."
