GEORGE and Dragon opened up a three-point lead at the top of the Premier League of the CREWE REGIONAL SUNDAY LEAGUE after thrashing Crewe Athletic 5-0.

Joe Duckworth netted four and Matt Walker was also on the scoresheet against the fourth-placed side.

Betley moved up to second place with a 4-2 win over The Lions whose cause wasn't helped by two red cards. Keiran Duckers hit a hat-trick for Betley and Simon Roberts scored the other with Danny Roberts scoring both goals for The Lions.

Division One leaders Broadhurst FC won their local derby with Winnington SC by a 3-2 margin. Scorers for Winnington SC were Shaun Davies and Jack Duffy, but goals from Danny Martin, Danny Griffiths and Tom Hassall won it for Broadhurst.

AFC Talbot suffered their first loss of the season going down 3-2 to JS Bailey. Scorers for JS Bailey were Greg Bailey, JJ Bailey and Liam Whittaker with James Burden and Dave Johnson replying for AFC Talbot.

Nantwich Pirates beat Audlem 4-2 with goals from Brandon Broadhurst (2), Sam Cadwallader and Joe Hilton. Paul Bowker and Seb Burrow replied for Audlem.

Talbot hit goal scoring form with an 8-4 win over C & N Utd. Ben Jones hit a brace for Talbot and Joe Goodier, Kris Spencer, Scott Rankin Ryan Moss, Daniel Mair and Brandon Grindley were also on the scoresheet.

Matt Saywell, Rhys Bennett, Taylor Ruscoe and Tom Hayton replied for C & N.

Meanwhile, CREWE FC'S trip to Daten in the CHESHIRE LEAGUE was called off because of Covid-19 restrictions around players travelling in and out of tier three areas.

But Crewe FC Reserves were in action, going down to a 2-1 defeat against Parklands at the Cumberland Arena in the Cheshire Reserve League.
