Crewe Saturday football: Crewe Town keep 100% record as Crewe FC secure first win

CREWE Town Jaguars and Sandbach Curshaws maintained their 100 per cent start in the CREWE AND DISTRICT LEAGUE.

Crewe Town edged Sandbach Town by a 1-0 margin in a tight contest with Adam Grant scoring the decisive goal.

Curshaws ran up double figures against Elworth Park Rangers. It was a tough afternoon for the newcomers who were on the end of a 10-1 thrashing.

Sam Critchley netted four times for Curshaws and Gary Cardno grabbed a brace. Fraser Keena, Chris Shaw, Ryan Simmons and Liam Tetlow were also on the scoresheet.

Mary Dendy faced new boys Crewe Town Reserves and picked up their first points of the season with a a 3-1 success. Bjorn Hughes fired in twice and substitute Alex Hollinshead was also on the sheet.

In the CHESHIRE LEAGUE Crewe FC bounced back from their opening day hammering to win their first game of the Premier Division campaign by inflicting a first defeat on Warrington-based GPSO.

After a goalless first half at the Cumberland Arena, Jordan Amson lashed a volley home for a 75th-minute opener for Liam O'Reilly's side.

Jordan Bennion then sealed the three points with a thunderous strike two minutes from time.

Crewe FC Reserves went down to a 3-2 loss at Parklands Reserves in Reserve League Two.
