A Crewe community pub is set to show the FIFA World Cup tournament on a huge inflatable screen - used for all evening matches.

The Hop Pole, Wistaston Road, confirmed it will be showing all night-time FIFA World Cup matches on its new 20ft screen.

Host nation, Qatar, kicked off the tournament yesterday (November 20) with a 0-2 defeat to Ecuador.

Football's largest competition will be played until Sunday (December 18) - with 32 countries competing across 64 matches.

On November 11, The Hop Pole showed off its huge new beer garden screen - used for all FIFA World Cup matches played when its dark.

The Crewe pub is run by landlord, Andrew Pearse and landlady, Rebecca Austin.

Miss Austin, told Nub News: "The screen for all games that are dark enough to show.

"We are investing in a marquee and it's to promote all families to come so that everyone has a chance to watch the game without stretching too much.

On November 11, The Hop Pole showed off its huge new beer garden screen - used for all FIFA World Cup matches played when its dark (The Hop Pole).

"It will be on for the England vs USA (November 25) and England vs Wales (November 29)."

Inside the pub, there will be seven TVs screening the FIFA World Cup matches.

The Hop Pole will be opening at 11am on the days of all England matches - serving breakfast before the games.

England kick-off their campaign against Iran on Monday (November 21) at 1pm.

Miss Austin added: "1pm is too bright for the screens full potential. We are opening from 11am to serve breakfast before all of the England games.

"We have two-pint pitcher pints and have decorated the pub."

The Hop Pole is open 12pm to 11pm (Monday to Thursday), 12pm to 12am (Friday and Saturday) and operates from 12pm to 10pm (Sunday).

Crewe Market Hall is hosting all England matches on a big screen inside the venue - starting Monday (November 21) from 12pm to 4pm.
