Kind-hearted staff at a local village pub have donated bedding items to a local charity - with its hotel refurbishment of the bedrooms well underway.
Staff from The White Lion & 1652 restaurant, Main Road, Weston have donated bedding items to local charity The Wingate Centre, Wrenbury - less than 10 miles from Crewe.
Based in the heart of Cheshire, the 17th century building is undergoing a full refurbishment with plans in place to more than double accommodation to 35 en-suite bedrooms.
This is aimed at developing the hotel's future wedding offer.
General manager of the White lion, Abi Evans told Nub News: "With the hotel refurbishment well underway, I really wanted to make sure that furniture and items we are no longer using, don't go to waste.
"I reached out to my connections on LinkedIn to see if any local charities or shelters could make use of some of the things we no longer needed.
"I managed to get in touch with trustee of the Wingate Centre, Jenny Sproston, we arranged to meet and hand over the items.
"We are really pleased they have found a new home, to such a great cause."
The Wingate Special Children's Trust is an independent charity devoted to enriching the lives of children and young people with all levels of physical and learning disability - or those who are disadvantaged.
Based at the Wingate Centre, Wrenbury Hall Drive, the site compromised a 23-bedroom specialised accommodation facility and a 7,000 square foot, fully fitted gymnasium.
The White Lion has just celebrated one year as part of the Boulton Group, a multifaceted group based in the heart of Cheshire.
The Boulton Group provides specialist services that meet client's needs, compromising payroll experts Optimum Pay, luxury travel and concierge service, Optimum Experience, and Trinity Create Marketing.
Backed by the Boulton Group, The White Lion aims to become a vocal point of the community. It plans to continue to work with and donate to local charities.
The pub is open from 8:30am until 11pm everyday, serving breakfast bites, lunch and dinner.
It is accompanied by a well-received menu of hand-crafted cocktails.
