MAKERS and small indie businesses will be in the spotlight at a pop-up event at Crewe Market Hall.

A Pop Up Makers and Small Business Market is being held at the Earle Street venue on Sunday (October 17) as part of an initiative launched by two of the hall's permanent traders.

Hannah Sharkey of Wattle & Home and Stacey Hulse of Mia's Baby Boutique, both owners of small independent businesses in the newly-refurbished hall, hope Small Street Markets events will give small traders some great exposure.

They have just revealed details of their Christmas Markets, which take place on November 27/28 and December 18/19 at Crewe Market Hall (10:30am to 4pm).

This Sunday's event is part of the plan to host monthly pop-up markets throughout next year - they will be held on the third Sunday of the month.

The traders said: "If you have attended one of their previous events you will know that we pride themselves on bringing a good variety of stalls to the markets.

"Our markets focus on helping small local businesses and bringing our communities together. Our mission is to help revitalise and inject a buzz back into the destination through all local traders and small businesses.

"People now demand so much more from their shopping experience. They want local, hand-made, small businesses, they want variety and in turn these small business owners have so much passion for what they do.

"They offer great customer service and knowledge."

This Sunday's Pop-up Makers and Small Business Market runs from 10:30am to 4pm.
