Crewe Market Hall was recently hit by TWO weekend music cancellations - but the town centre venue has acted swiftly to replace both of them.

Yesterday afternoon (July 7), two acts informed Crewe Market Hall that they would be cancelling their evening gigs at the venue for Friday (July 8) and Saturday (July 9).

Crewe Market Hall made a statement on social media, saying: "All good plans sometimes go wrong.

"Sadly both of our acts had to genuinely pull out of tomorrow and Saturday's gigs.

"Look forward to hearing from you."

Later in the afternoon, Crewe Market Hall managed to replace the two cancellations with two new acts.

Cheshire three-piece rock rock and pop band, FootSteps, will be performing tonight (July 8).

Musical duo, Baxter, have also stepped in and will be playing on Saturday night (July 9).

The venue confirmed the new acts on social media, saying: "Following on from our earlier post, thank you so much to everybody that rushed to the rescue to provide entertainment for tomorrow (July 8) and Saturday (July 9).

"We have Footsteps (July 8) and the totally insane Baxter Duo on Saturday (July 9) Thank you again everyone."

FootSteps and Baxter were not the only two music groups who got in touch with Crewe Market Hall.

Musicial duo, Baxter, will be performing at Crewe Market Hall on Saturday night - July 9 (Baxter).

On social media, more than half-a dozen local performers left comments saying they were interested and had emailed the market hall.
