Crewe man facing domestic violence and assault trials loses bail application

By Gwyn Griffiths 27th Aug 2021

A CREWE man facing a charge of domestic violence and assault has been remanded in custody after his bail application was turned down.

Peter Andrew Bebbington appeared by video link at South Cheshire Magistrates' Court ahead of two scheduled trial dates.

Bebbington, 35, of Ruskin Road, Crewe denies a harassment charge concerning allegations he contacted Emma Myers between August 5 and 8 this year when he was prohibited from doing so by a restraining order.

He has also previously entered a not guilty plea to a charge of assaulting another female by beating in Crewe on August 5.

Bebbington's solicitor, Anthony Derbyshire, made an application for bail, but after hearing from prosecutor Debbie Byrne the magistrates chose to remand the defendant in custody until a trial date of October 14 on the harassment allegation and October 21 with regard to the allegation of assault.
