Crewe man charged with 'four counts of criminal damage' and 'assault of an emergency worker' - appearing at court today
A 38-year-old Crewe man was due to appear at Warrington Magistrates' Court today (August 9) - following an incident in the town on Sunday afternoon.
David Evanson, of Barn Croft Road, was arrested on Sunday, (August 7), following a disturbance on the roof of a Middlewich Street property which was first reported around 3.10pm.
He was remanded in custody until today's court appearance.
Cheshire Police closed off Middlewich Street and surrounding areas for a number of hours while they dealt with the incident .
The disturbance was watched on by a large group of onlookers.
Evanson has been charged with causing criminal damage, assault of an emergency worker, affray and further assault.
It is also reported that he caused unnecessary suffering to a protected animal (police dog).
During the disturbance, local residents were urged to stay inside for their own safety.
