Crewe man charged with assaulting police officers following baseball bat incident

A Crewe male has been charged with assaulting police officers, after threatening members of the public with a baseball bat in the street.
On Friday 15 December, Cheshire Police received reports of a man being abusive on Catherine Street.
At around 10pm, officers were deployed to the scene, locating the male.
The man was then threatening towards police, kicking and striking out at them.
Michael Brown, 54 from Crewe, was physically restrained and arrested.
He has since been charged with a public order offence and assaulting an emergency worker.
Brown is set to appear at Crewe Magistrates' Court on Thursday 11 January.
A Cheshire Police spokesperson said: "Friday 15 December 15th at 10pm, reports were received of an abusive male wandering around Catherine Street.
'"He was making threats to members of the public whilst carrying a baseball bat.
"Response patrol officers were deployed and located the male.
"He was abusive and threatening towards officers so was physically restrained.
"He lashed out kicking and striking officers during the arrest. The baseball bat was found and seized.
"Michael Brown, 54 from Crewe, has been charged with a public order offence and assaulting an emergency worker.
"He will appear at South Cheshire Magistrates' Court on Thursday 11 January."
