Crewe man caught by police with £15k cannabis haul in Suffolk town

A CREWE man caught with a consignment of cannabis in Lowestoft has been jailed.

Rushit Protoduari was arrested by officers in Suffolk Police's Kestrel team on September 17 after his vehicle was stopped on Denmark Road in the East Anglian coast town.

He was found to be in possession of around 2kg of cannabis with an estimated street value of £15,000.

Protoduari, 27, of Adlington Road, was charged with possession with intent to supply class B drugs as well as a money laundering charge.

He appeared before Ipswich Magistrates' Court yesterday (Monday) where he was given a 26-weeks sentence after entering guilty plea.

Suffolk Police said its Kestrel team tackles criminal threats and challenges that emerge in a particular local area, dealing with serious criminality such as drug crime as well as anti-social behaviour.
