ENGINEERS have been called in to repair damage to two of the main displays in Crewe's festive Lumen lights display.

The weekend's severe weather has hit Aqualux, a lighting installation made of 48 water containers sited in Lyceum Square, and the Moon Folk projectors in Memorial Square.

Both exhibits are switched off, while a third, Chorus, a tripod-based installation erected near the magistrates' courts, was ended a day early - it had been due to run for three nights until Sunday - because of the stormy weather.

Crewe Town Council worked with a team from Blackpool Illuminations to create the arts trail, which runs until Sunday, December 12.

The council has apologised for any inconvenience and said: "We are working with technical support to get them fixed asap ."
