A FITNESS instructor who works at Crewe Lifestyle Centre has been listed for a prestigious regional award.

Nikki Prince's interest in the fitness industry was sparked by her time as a member with Everybody Sport and Recreation, who run leisure centres, gyms and swimming pools in the borough of Cheshire East.

She became a fitness instructor with the leisure company two years ago and her hard work has paid off with a nomination for the North West Instructor of the Year award at this years Community Fitness Awards.

Nikki has achieved Level 2 Gym Instructor grade and is certified in Bodycombat (Advanced Level), Bodypump (Advanced Level), Bodybalance and Les Mills Core.

When she first signed up for classes at Nantwich Swimming Pool, Shavington Leisure Centre and Crewe Lifestyle Centre she was unfit, over weight and lacking drive or motivation for exercise.

But she recalled: "It was Everybody's classes and everyone's enthusiasm, encouragement and support that got me into fitness.

"It made me feel alive, happy and free and once I started to physically see the results I knew I was hooked.

"Becoming a Fitness Instructor was the best thing I've ever achieved and it's completely changed my life. I'm so passionate about all things fitness and it fills me with pure joy to be able to share this passion with the members that attend my classes."

Crewe Lifestyle Centre was among the Everybody Sport and Recreation facilities opening up on Monday.

Nikki and the rest of her team are gearing up and ready to deliver group exercise classes at Everybody's centres from May 17.
