Crewe firefighters tackled a car blaze on a busy bypass in the town, believed to have been caused by a "mechanical fault."
On Tuesday 19 May, Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service received reports of an incident on the A500 Shavington Bypass.
At 4.04pm, one fire engine from Crewe arrived at the scene, discovering a car well-alight.
The Crewe firefighters used a hose reel jet to put out the flames, with absorbent mats used to contain and clean up oil spilt on the bypass.
Cheshire Police managed a lane closure while the incident was dealt with.
A Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "Firefighters attended an incident involving a car in Crewe following reports of a possible vehicle fire.
"Crews used a thermal imaging camera to check the vehicle for hotspots and absorbent mats were then used to contain and clean up oil spilt onto the roadway before the scene was handed over to police.
"The incident is believed to have been caused by a mechanical fault."
