Crewe firefighters rush to tumble dryer blaze after smoke seen coming from house

Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service firefighters dealt with a tumble dryer blaze in South Cheshire - after smoke was seen coming from a house.

The incident on Broad Lane, Stapeley, Nantwich, happened at 10:22am on Monday 6 February.

Two fire engines from Crewe quickly arrived at the scene - assessing the situation.

The tumble dryer fire is believed to have been caused by a build up of lint in the trap (Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service).

The Crewe firefighters saw smoke coming from the Stapeley property.

Crews used a covering jet to put out the tumble dryer blaze.

A Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "Crews attended to a tumble dryer that was on fire in Stapeley.

"Smoke was seen to be coming from the ground floor of a house.

"Firefighters wore breathing apparatus and used a covering jet to extinguish the fire.

Crewe firefighters used a covering jet to put out the tumble dryer blaze (Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service).

"A large fan was used to ventilate the property and further checks were completed to check for smouldering."
