Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service have rescued a person trapped inside their car - following a late night crash in South Cheshire.

The incident on Wilkesley Lane, Wilkesley (just outside Audlem), happened at 00:40am this morning (September 6).

One fire engine from Crewe, one fire engine from Audlem and a rapid response rescue unit all arrived at the scene.

The incident on Wilkesley Lane, Wilkesley, by Manor Farm - happened past midnight this morning (Google).

On arrival, firefighters found a car on its side with a person trapped inside.

They worked together to remove the cars windscreen - safely rescuing the casualty.

A Cheshire Fire and Rescue spokesperson said: "A casualty was trapped in a road traffic collision on Wilkesley Lane.

A Rapid Response Unit (RRU) was deployed to the scene to help rescue the casualty (Cheshire Fire and Rescue).

"The vehicle was on its side and crews were able to extricate the casualty by removing the car's windscreen."
