Crewe firefighters help rescue two people from M6 crash

FIREFIGHTERS from Crewe helped rescue two people trapped in a car after an M6 crash last night.
Five fire engines, two from Crewe, two from Winsford and one from Alsager as well as a major rescue unit , attended the scene of the collision involving a car and a light goods vehicle on the northbound carriageway of the motorway between junctions 16 and 17 around 9.40pm.
The car left the road and flipped onto its roof, leaving two adults trapped inside it.
Firefighters got the casualties out of the car and handed them over to the care of paramedics.
Both of them were taken to hospital in an ambulance. Their conditions are not known.
Firefighters were in attendance for around an hour and 20 minutes.
