Crewe FC plans new 100-seater stand at King George V hub

Crewe FC has submitted plans to install a new covered 100-seater stand at its expanding King George V Playing Fields home.
The proposals would see the tiered spectator stand built alongside the artificial grass pitch at The Excel, the club's new sports site off West Street.
A Crewe FC spokesperson told Nub News: "We submitted the planning application as part of our ongoing commitment as a club to improving and investing in the facility for the benefit of Crewe FC, the local community and everyone who uses The Excel.
"The stand forms part of a wider programme of improvements, supported by the Football Foundation and Premier League, to ensure our ground meets National League System requirements.
"It will also provide covered seating for spectators attending matches and other activities at the facility."

The application has received no objection from Sport England, which said the stand would be built on existing hardstanding without affecting the quality or quantity of the playing pitches.
It also advised Crewe FC to ensure the structure meets relevant league requirements by liaising with the Football Foundation and County FA.
These plans follow Crewe FC's recent entry into the non-league football pyramid for the first time, alongside the opening of its new home at The Excel.
Crewe FC also told Nub News its approved padel courts project remains on hold, due to "ongoing issues" with Cheshire East Council.
The last date for submitting comments is Thurscday 26 November, with a target decision date of Wednesday 23 December.
