A Crewe counsellor and two-time kidney cancer survivor has launched a new podcast aimed at supporting people living with and beyond the disease.

Steve Pointon, who was first diagnosed in 2016, has turned his personal experience into a mission to help others facing similar battles.

After navigating major surgery, ongoing treatment and the emotional toll of a second diagnosis, Steve established a counselling practice on Dane Bank Avenue, offering support to cancer patients, survivors and their families.

Now, he is expanding that support with the launch of his podcast, 'Living with and Beyond Cancer.'

The first episode shares Steve's own story, from the shock of diagnosis to the challenges of returning to work and rebuilding confidence.

Future episodes will feature conversations with medical professionals, patients and caregivers, tackling the practical and emotional realities of cancer.

Steve is also an active advocate, working with organisations including Action Kidney Cancer and the International Kidney Cancer Coalition to improve awareness, patient support and access to care.

He hopes the podcast will help people feel less isolated.

Steve told Nub News: "No one should feel they are facing cancer alone. If sharing my story helps even one person feel understood or supported, then it's worth it."

The podcast is available on all major streaming platforms.
