A Crewe childcare company wants to accommodate for more children, after submitting proposals for an expansion on to non-domestic premises.
ABC Childcare, of 129 Gainsborough Road, wants expand its premises with an (at least four) bedroom building, in a garage conversion.
Currently with a permission for 20 children, these proposals would increase its capacity by 10, accommodating up to 30 children.
The Crewe establishment, which has operating hours from 7:45am to 6pm, submitted its application to Cheshire East Council on Monday 27 November.
Owner and director of ABC Childcare, Lynsey Taylor, told Nub News: "We would like to increase the number from 20 children to 30 children as there is an increasing need for nursery facilities in the area.
"Parents are having to both work to pay all the bills in this present economic crisis together with increasing costs of food and energy bills.
"Furthermore, the government are providing 15 hours of funded childcare for parents of two-years-olds in April 2024.
"This free entitlement is being extended further in September 2024 to include infants from the age of nine months.
"In preparation for this we wish to increase the space of the property and to change it's title to assist with the demand.
"Cheshire East Early Years team clearly state there is a demand for wrap around care and they will be providing capital funding to facilitate new places for funded two-year-olds.
"We are currently funding this project ourselves to be ahead of the increase of nursery places that will be required in 2024.
"I have been operating a childcare service since 2005 and now have three settings in Cheshire East.
"Year-on-year the demand for childcare has increased and my team of experienced practitioners has grown to accommodate this.
"This expansion is a progressive move and one which will serve the community, the county and the economy greatly."
ABC Childcare's other two locations are at schools, Edleston Primary School, Denver Avenue, and Audlem St James' C.E Primary School.
The last date for submitting comments on the application is Wednesday 20 December, with a target decision date of Monday 22 January,
