Crewe cat attack - animal dies following 'unknown group' assault

A cat has died following an unprovoked attack from an 'unknown group' of males in Crewe - police officers received a report of the animal death on April 4.

The incident in the Crossway area of Crewe occurred in the early hours of the morning on April 4 - where it was reported to Cheshire Police at 8:16am.

It has been reported on social media that the incident happened between 2:30am and 2:45am.

Police confirmed to Nub News that they are investigating the incident.

The enquiries for the cat death are currently in the early stages - according to police.

A spokesperson for Cheshire Constabulary said: "At 8.16am on Monday April 4, police were called to reports that a cat had died after being attacked in Crewe.

"The caller reported that sometime last night (April 4), an unknown group attacked the cat in the Crossway area of Crewe."

The incident has been posted on numerous Crewe Facebook groups - residents of nearby housing estates have taken to social media to slam the attack and those involved.

Crewe resident Denise Foster said: "This is absolutely terrible, the police have got to do something about it.

"That poor cat and his family. I am so sorry for their loss and the way that it happened, it's horrific. Fly high sweet boy."
