On Monday 9 December, Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service received reports of an incident on Davenport Avenue.

Around 8.26pm, one fire engine from Crewe and one from Nantwich arrived at the scene.

Discovering a large blaze in the kitchen of a property, firefighters extinguished the flames using a hose reel jet.

No injuries were reported in the incident, with the kitchen sustaining moderate damage (Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service).

The smoke was then cleared from the property, with no injuries reported.

A Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "Crews were called to a fire in a kitchen in Crewe.

"Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire.

"A high pressure fan was then used to clear smoke from the area."
