Crewe Alexandra are set to host local rivals Stoke City in a 2025/26 pre-season friendly, taking place on a Wednesday night this July.

Stoke City will visit The Mornflake Stadium for a pre-season friendly on Wednesday 23 July, the same date as last year when The Alex lost 2-1, despite a stunning opening goal from Max Sanders.

Mark Robins' side, who secured safety in The Championship at the end of a challenging 2024/25, will travel to Crewe for a 7.30pm kick-off at Gresty Road.

It will be a third friendly with The Potters in five years, and a key warm-up game for two sides, each with promotion ambition for the coming campaign.

Stoke will bring a strong squad to South Cheshire to face Lee Bell's men, and the fixture is sure to prove popular with both sets of supporters.

Ticket details will be released in due course, with more Crewe pre-season friendles announced soon.
