Crewe Alex set for most home fans in 20 years with family 'festive affair'

For one game only, the current away stand, (Pop Side stand), has been opened to Alex fans, in attempt to break a record home attendance (8,433) of the modern era.
To mark the festive season, Crewe are hosting a pre-match mini Christmas village around the club shop.
Starting from 5pm, visitors can expect food trucks, live music and a special appearance from Santa.
Head of commercial at Crewe Alex, James Beckett, told Nub News: "This night is a really special one for the football club and we have really tried to make the match more than 90 minutes.
"Supporters can visit a mini Christmas village before the game, visit Santa and grab a bite to eat before cheering us on during the match.
"It really is a night not to be missed and we are currently on track for the highest number of Alex fans in the ground for over 20 years which is some achievement."
Across Advent, Crewe have been running daily competitions to win special prizes when commenting on, liking and sharing football festive posts.
Alex players have also been visiting local schools, taking about their football experiences, answering questions and handing out free tickets/vouchers.
RSS chairman, Mark Beavan, said: "We are delighted Crewe Alex are making Friday's game a festive affair for the whole family.
"It will be great to see the whole community coming together for what promises to be a memorable evening."
