Crewe Alex FC have answered calls to discount match ticket prices for a key EFL League Two festive football fixture, as part of a drive to pack Mornflake Stadium.

The Railwaymen are set to host A.F.C Barrow on Friday 22 December (7:45pm), aiming to make it the biggest home attendance of the season.

In response to supporters requesting for cheaper tickets, children aged 11 and under are free to attend the Christmas clash, with adults (over 18s) priced at just £10.

Under 18s prices have also been slashed to just £5, making this promotion chasers clash a night out for the family.

Supporters are being urged to respond to the huge discount by filling the stands, showing the club offering cheaper tickets can work in a business sense.

Crewe Alex director and Railwaymen Supporters' Society representative, Mark Beavan, said: "We believe this is an excellent gesture which provides great value for fans.

"This is an exciting fixture under the lights between two teams going for promotion. Three points would be a huge boost in a busy period.

"Lee Bell has been clear about how important fans' vocal backing is to his players, so we hope to provide the 12th man for the lads on Friday 22.

Crewe Alex supporters are being urged to respond to the huge match ticket discount by filling the stands and showing offering cheaper tickets can bring more money into the club (Ryan Parker).

"We'd love to see a full KPI Recruiting Stand so come along, bring your friends and family, and let's get Mornflake Stadium rocking."
