CREWE have made another swoop in the loan market to bring back young Middlesbrough attacker Stephen Walker.

The 20-year-old made an impact in six appearances while on loan at Gresty Road last season.

Having played for Boro against Crewe in the Caraboa Cup earlier in that campaign, he joined last January in time to help the club's League Two promotion push before the season was paused.

The youngster offered some pace and directness out wide and scored his first senior goal in Crewe's 2-0 win over Macclesfield on February 22 last year.

The England youth international, who has featured for Boro in the Championship, has spent the past three months on loan at League One rivals MK Dons, where he scored five times in 17 appearances, although only five of those were starts.

Walker told the club's official web site: "The way last season ended last wasn't the way we wanted it to end, but Crewe ended up going up.

"I kept in touch with a couple of lads. They were quality when I was here last and it was a young group with a good mix with a few lads who were a bit older and more senior.

"Crewe are on a good run and I just want to help out and help keep the club climbing."

The attacker's loan deal has been negotiated until the end of the season.
