TESCO in Crewe will be offering Covid-19 jabs later this week as part of an expansion of the vaccination service across Cheshire.

The Vernon Way store is among three additional three pharmacy-led sites being launched; the others are in mid Cheshire at Hartford Methodist Church and Well Pharmacy in Barnton.

The pharmacy's store, and those at the Northwich locations, were due to go live on Monday, but health chiefs plan to start the Tesco service by Friday/Saturday this week.

All will require prior appointments being made.

A vaccination centre is also opening at Ellesmere Port Civic Hall with services relocating from Chester Racecourse, which closes on June 19.

Cheshire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) says the changes are aimed at making it easier for people to access the vaccine closer to where they live.

People aged 32 and above who have not had a jab can now book an appointment at Cheshire's vaccination services via.

People who are eligible, but without online access, can call 119 to book between 7am and 11pm seven days a week.

Health chiefs are urging people to attend booked appointments and come back for their second dose.

Those who have received a first dose in Cheshire East numbered 245,937 this week (May 24) with 163,212 people having had their second vaccinations.
