Cheshire Derby match quickly rescheduled for date this month

Crewe Alexandra's Cheshire Derby match has quickly been rescheduled for a date this month (January) - following a recent postponement.

The clash with Stockport County was postponed on Saturday (January 21) for a frozen pitch - despite the best efforts of ground staff and volunteers.

Match officials deemed parts of Gresty Road unplayable during a precautionary pitch inspection at 11:30am.

On Monday (January 23), Crewe Alexandra confirmed the match has been rescheduled for Tuesday 31 January - a 7:45pm kick-off.

All tickets purchased for the Cheshire Derby will carry out to the new Tuesday date.

Following the game's Saturday postponement, Crewe offered hospitality food and drink to volunteers who joined the club in in trying to get the game on.

Local charities in South Cheshire also received a donation from the club.

Volunteers helped Crewe ground staff to remove snow off the pitch's covers - in attempt to get the Cheshire Derby on (Nub News).

This rescheduled game on Tuesday 31 January is Crewe Alexandra's next match.
