A Land Rover lost a tyre after crashing into railings outside a Crewe primary school, with no injuries reported.

At 9.40pm on Wednesday 23 April, Cheshire Police received reports of an incident on Minshull New Road, outside Leighton Primary School.

The driver of a blue Land Rover lost control, with the vehicle ploughing into the pedestrian barriers, losing a tyre and leaving debris over the pavement and road.

No arrests were made in Crewe crash, with Minshull New Road cleared and reopened by midnight (Nub News).

A Cheshire Police spokesperson told Nub News: "At 9.40pm on Wesnesday 23 April, police were called to a collision on Minshull New Road, Crewe.

"The collision involved one vehicle, a blue Land Rover, there were no injuries and the scene was cleared by midnight."

The driver of the blue Land Rover lost control, with the vehicle ploughing into the pedestrian barriers, losing a tyre and leaving debris over the pavement and road (Nub News).

Cheshire East Council originally proposed to permanently close off this section of Minshull New Road to traffic, as part of the £51m North West Crewe Package scheme.

These proposals never came to light, with Crewe St Barnabas councillor, James Pratt (Conservative), calling for more road safety measures to be implemented.
