A growing cleaning business has submitted plans to expand into two former takeaway units, located in the West End of Crewe.

Applicant, Mr David Simcox, of Discounted Cleaning Supplies Ltd, wants to join 131 to 133 West Street in to one building used for commercial space.

Trading since 1999, Discounted Cleaning Supplies sells leading cleaning products and equipment at discounted prices.

The West Street business proposes a ground floor and first floor extension with a total remodelling of the units.

A design and access statement reads: "The application seeks to create a commercial space extension for an existing two previous shops.

"Now, the client wants to adjoin the buildings for his growing business for cleaning supplies. Also there is a possibility of increasing employment.

"The site is set in a predominantly residential area but most of the units along west street are commercial units

"The application seeks permission for a 220 metre squared extension over ground and first floor.

Discounted Cleaning Supplies proposes a ground floor and first floor extension with a total remodelling of the units (Cheshire East Planning).

"This design has been done to improve the spatial room layouts and circulation space of what was a restricted floor areas.

"The proposal strives to create an attractive redevelopment of the site which sits comfortably with its neighbours and reflects the scale and character of the other buildings within the vicinity while still being unique."

The last date for submitting comments on the application is Monday 27 January with a target decision date in February.
