Boy taken to hospital following another collision at Crewe junction

A boy was taken to hospital as a precaution, following a fourth reported collision at a Crewe junction already this year.

On Tuesday 11 March, Cheshire Police received reports of a collision on Walthall Street, at the junction with Gainsborough Road.

The Crewe South collision involved two vehicles, a silver Nissan and black Audi, with North West Ambulance Service called to the scene.

A child was looked after by paramedics and taken to Leighton Hospital as a safety measure. No arrests were made (Scott Twigg).

A Cheshire Police spokesperson told Nub News: "At 4pm on Tuesday 11 March, police were called to a two-vehicle collision on Walthall Street

"A boy went to hospital as a precaution."

This was the fourth reported collision at Walthall Street/Gainsborough Road junction already this year (Scott Twigg).

Following another collision at this junction, local residents took to social media to ramp up calls for new road safety measures.

One said: "I dread this junction everyday it's so dangerous you can't see anything.

"Night-time at least you can see car lights. It's like playing chicken trying to edge out."
