Boy taken to hospital following 'altercation' with youths outside Crewe supermarket

A teenage boy was taken to hospital as a "precautionary measure" following an altercation with a group of youths, outside a Crewe supermarket.
On Wednesday 7 August, Cheshire Police received reports of an incident at Asda Crewe Superstore, Victoria Shopping Centre.
At 7:45pm, officers arrived at the scene, discovering a 13-year-old boy had been assaulted.
The victim said he had been hit in the face by a known individual, relating to an ongoing argument.
He suffered a small cut to the head in the incident and was taken to Leighton Hospital.
A group of youths are believed to have been present at the time, with Cheshire Police urging witnesses to come forward.
Officers confirmed the incident was not related to any of the riots seen across the country.
A Cheshire Police spokesperson told Nub News: "At 7:45pm on Wednesday 7 August, officers on patrol in Crewe discovered a 13-year-old had been involved in an altercation outside Asda.
"The victim stated he had been hit in the face by a known individual in relation to an ongoing dispute.
"The boy sustained a small cut to the head and was taken to Leighton Hospital as a precautionary measure.
"A group of youths are believed to have been present at the time, although the incident was not related to any of the national disorder.
"Anyone with information should contact cheshire police via the website, quoting: IML 1889693."
