A burglar from Birmingham who targeted homes in Crewe has been sentenced to four years and six months in jail.
Shafiollah Amiree, 24, broke into a home on Parklands Drive in Weston on 1 June and searched through the cupboards to steal the keys of a grey Audi parked outside, which he fled in. He then broke into a home on Park Drive in Wistaston on 22 June and stole a Ford Focus and BMW.
The Audi and BMW travelled in convoy towards Birmingham and the Ford Focus was found in Tunstall, Stoke-on-Trent.
Amiree was sentenced at Chester Crown Court on Monday 6 October and was given an extended driving ban of five years and three months after pleading guilty to two counts of burglary, three counts of theft of a motor vehicle and two counts of driving while disqualified.
Further analysis showed the stolen cars had been travelling in convoy with a white BMW which was registered to an address on Birchdale Road, Birmingham
Police went to the address in Birmingham at 8am on Monday 24 June and the white BMW was parked on the driveway.
Amiree was inside and was arrested after matching the appearance of the driver from the ANPR footage recovered by officers.
His phone was also located at the address and subsequent analysis placed him in the area at the time of both burglaries.
After recovering the evidence, Amiree was charged in relation to both of the incidents. He was also charged with two counts of driving while disqualified, due to the fact that he had been banned from driving for three years on Wednesday 9 April 2025.
Following the guilty plea, Detective Constable Jamie Roberts said: "As this case demonstrates, if you commit crime in Cheshire, you will be caught and you will be brought to justice..
"No matter where you are from, there are no borders, and our officers are committed to travelling the length and breadth of the country to ensure that those who cause harm in our communities are held accountable for their actions.
"I hope that the sentence handed to Amiree will provide some reassurance for the victims in this case and allow them to move forward with their lives.
"I also hope that this case acts as a warning to anyone else who is thinking of coming to Cheshire to commit crime."
