Crewe Krazy Races is set to return to the town this May with organisers confirming a spectacular Battle of Britain Memorial Flight flypast as part of 2026's event.

The hugely popular and free soapbox derby races back into Crewe from 10.45am on Sunday 24 May, bringing a full day of high-speed action, and family entertainment to Brooklands.

Organisers say this year's event will be "bigger and more memorable" than ever, with two major new additions unveiled ahead of race day.

This includes the Royal Air Force's Battle of Britain Memorial Flight flypast and a classic car showcase, featuring around 40 vintage vehicles.

The UK's largest touring soapbox derby will once again transform Crewe into a festival of racing with local businesses, schools and community groups taking part.

This announcement comes after all 20 competing teams attended the official Scrutineering Evening at Crewe Hall Hotel & Spa, where soapboxes underwent essential safety checks ahead of the event.

One of the standout attractions this year will be an official flypast from the Royal Air Force's Battle of Britain Memorial Flight.

The Royal Air Force's Battle of Britain Memorial Flight will take place during the event window between 11am an 5pm, featuring either a Spitfire, Hurricane or Dakota aircraft.

The exact aircraft and timing will be confirmed by RAF pilots during the week leading up to the event.

Curated with support from the Italian Auto Moto Club, the classic car collection will offer visitors the chance to get up close to a range of iconic motors.

Head of Brand & Strategic Development for Krazy Races, Danny Scoffin, said: "We're always looking at ways to make each Krazy Races event bigger and more memorable for the communities we work with, and Crewe is no exception.

"The classic car showcase brings something completely new to the event and gives families another reason to stay and explore throughout the day.

"Securing an official Battle of Britain Memorial Flight flypast is incredibly special.

"Whether it's a Spitfire, Hurricane or Dakota, it will be a real wow moment for Crewe and an unforgettable sight over the event."

Following a successful 2025 event, organisers say thousands of visitors are expected to attend this year's races along Broad Street.
