Arsonists set fire to abandoned building in Crewe close to town centre
Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service responded to an abandoned building blaze in Crewe - believed to have been started deliberately again.
The incident on Electricity Street was reported at 8:32pm last night (August 30).
Two fire engines from Crewe attended the scene - putting out the deliberate blaze.
A Cheshire Fire and Rescue spokesperson said: "Water backpacks were used by firefighters to put out a fire inside a disused building on Electricity Street.
"They believe the fire was started deliberately so asked police to attend."
This year, arson attacks on the disused Electricity Street building have become a common occurrence.
Back in July, Crewe firefighters arrived to discover a deliberate fire involving a large number of pallets.
A month earlier in June, firefighters were called to small deliberate fire at the same site.
Each time the building has been targeted, Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service has contacted Cheshire Police to investigate.
Today (August 31), a Cheshire Police spokesperson told Nub News: "Police were notified by Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service of a fire at a derelict property on Electricity Street - just after 8.45pm on Tuesday (August 30).
"No injuries have been reported.
"It is believed that the fire had been started deliberately.
"Anyone with information is asked to contact Cheshire Police via HERE quoting IML 1355527 or call 101."
Currently, there have been no arrests related to any of the arson attacks at the Crewe building.
